Dr. Lanier Holt

Dr. Lanier Holt is an award-winning researcher and teacher, having been named the top communications educator in the nation by the National Communications Association.

He has also been recognized as a university fellow at The Ohio State University for his mentoring work through the Holt Official Watch List (H.O.WL.) program, that he founded. Through this program, his students have gone on to law school at the University of Chicago, UCLA, and Notre Dame; the Fuqua Business School at Duke, and the Wake Forest School of Business; the School of Public Affairs at Emory University; the Medill School of Journalism, Media, and Integrated Marketing Communicatinos at Northwestern, and grad school at Columbia University, the USC, and several other top programs. Additionally, his mentees have worked at the Washington Post, Indianapolis Star, U.S. News & World Report, and for the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions.

Prior to working in academia, Dr. Holt worked at World Headquarters for Honeywell, the company’s aerospace business unit, Sensor and Guidance Products. He has also for the Chicago Tribune, Indianapolis Star, and Rochester Post-Bulletin newspapers.
